About Ed

Born and raised in New Jersey, I moved with my family to Escondido in June of 1973 mainly due to the uniqueness of the community and location but most of all because of the people. I began residency here continuing my occupation as a store manager for a major supermarket chain. I began working as a real estate professional in 1976 and have kept an active license now working as an independent contractor with Hanson Real Estate Commercial Group.

I am a US Army veteran serving from 1964 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1967. Awards included Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Services Medal and Expert Rifleman Award. Tours of duty included XVIII Airborne Corps Fort Bragg, NC, I Corps Headquarters, Camp Red Cloud, South Korea and USARECSTA, Fort Bliss Texas. While in Korea, I was a member of the Bullseye Masquers amateur theater group doing productions presented at various military bases in South Korea and on Armed Forces Network TV.

I attended Rutgers University-Supermarket Management, North Carolina State University and Texas Western College (no University of Texas, El Paso) and completed an accredited computer class at Palomar College.

My three children all attended Escondido schools and I am the proud ‘grampa’ of four beautiful granddaughters.

I have served on numerous civic committees including the Downtown Revitalization Committee, the Transportation Commission and Vehicle Parking District, the Planning Commission and as your Councilman since 2000.

I am a past President of the Escondido Jaycees and am the only member to ever be awarded the US Jaycees highest award of Jaycee Ambassador. I am also a Past President of the Middletown Merchants Association (NJ) and Escondido Village Mall Merchants Association. Current memberships include the Rotary Club of Escondido, JB Clark Post 149 American Legion, NSDCAR Commercial and the Escondido Republican Club.
